ReportedIP Hive Nears 100 Installations in Four Months
By August 20, 2026, four months after its first public release on April 27, 2026, 88 WordPress sites had connected ReportedIP Hive to the community network, and 74 of them sent attack reports on August 19. Sites that run Hive offline in Local Shield mode are not counted, so the total number of installations is higher.

How many WordPress sites run ReportedIP Hive?
The figures below count sites that talk to the network with a Community Access Key. Sites that run Hive in Local Shield mode send nothing to our servers, so they are not included. That is why the headline says nearly 100: the connected count was 88 on August 20, 2026, and 93 sites had registered by September 29, 2026.

Growth was steep over the summer. On July 1, 2026, 23 sites were connected; seven weeks later the daily figure stood at 81.
Why does the number of connected sites matter?
Hive is built on one principle: every protected website makes the others safer. When a botnet tries passwords on site A, site A blocks the IP locally and reports it to the network. Other connected sites can then refuse the same address before a password is checked there. The same pattern drives credential stuffing, where one list of stolen logins is tried against many sites.
The mechanism scales with participants. At 23 connected sites the network saw a small slice of the attacks on WordPress logins; with 83 sites reporting on a single day, an attacker that moves from site to site is far more likely to be known before it reaches yours. What is free in Hive and what do paid plans add?
All 16 attack sensors, the firewall engine, every dashboard and three of the four two-factor methods (authenticator app, passkey and email) run on the free plan. A site that never pays keeps its full local protection. The plugin is licensed under the GPL.
Paid plans add the managed relays for SMS and mail, higher API quotas, multi-site management and a short list of advanced modules such as WooCommerce frontend 2FA and Hardening Mode. SMS codes, the fourth two-factor method, are delivered through that relay and are included from Hive PRO.
Hive PRO costs €14.90 per month incl. VAT and covers up to 3 domains, which works out to €4.97 per domain. Wordfence Premium, for comparison, cost €8.30 per domain at list price in April 2026. Hive Business covers 15 domains for €39 per month incl. VAT.
How do I redeem the HIVE50 coupon?
The coupon halves the first year of Hive PRO on both billing intervals:
- Monthly plan: the first 12 invoices are halved, €7.45 instead of €14.90 per month incl. VAT.
- Yearly plan: the first annual invoice is halved, €74.50 instead of €149 incl. VAT; the renewal after 12 months is billed at the regular price.
- Redemption window: the code can be entered until November 20, 2026. Once applied, the discount runs for 12 months, however late in the window you redeem it.
Redeeming takes three steps: create a free account, choose Hive PRO under Subscription in your dashboard, and enter HIVE50 in the promotion code field at checkout. The discount is applied before payment, so the first invoice already shows the reduced amount.
Where does the community blacklist come from?
The IP blacklist fed by these reports is published separately, free and without signup. It has been updated daily since February 2026. Firewalls, fail2ban jails and mail servers can pull it directly; the blacklist documentation lists the formats and categories.
Every entry comes from reports sent to the network: Hive sites, the honeypot servers and other API reporters such as fail2ban setups. No purchased feeds go into it.
Frequently asked questions
How are the installation figures counted?
They count WordPress sites that contacted the ReportedIP network with a Community Access Key on a given day. A site counts as connected when the plugin made at least one request that day, and as reporting when it also sent at least one attack report. Sites in Local Shield mode send no data and cannot be counted.
Does the HIVE50 coupon work on Hive Business?
HIVE50 applies to Hive PRO only, on the monthly and the yearly plan. It takes 50% off for the first 12 months after you redeem it and must be entered at checkout by November 20, 2026. Hive Business and the SMS or mail bundles are billed at their regular prices.
Can I use Hive without connecting to the network?
Hive runs fully offline in Local Shield mode. All 16 sensors, local blocking and the free two-factor methods work without an account, and nothing leaves your site. Connecting with a free Community Access Key adds live IP reputation checks and lets your site share the attackers it sees.
